Joe Orton and Adrian Mole, two great literary giants born in Leicester. Mole thinks he's a great writer, everyone knows that Orton was. Both diarists, they described in the prose of deceptive gentility the seething morass of desire and prejudice which bubbles under the surface of suburbia. Leicester glories in a cover of boredom under which lies the panting heart of sheer unbridled sexuality and imminent social chaos. Festival patron Sue Townsend and Orton’s sisters Leonie and Marilyn discuss sex, surburbia, passion and prejudice with journalist and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe. A celebration of the ineffable nature of Leicester.
